Columbus Was the Center of the Sports World This Weekend

This past weekend was one of the best I’ve ever experienced as a sports fan.

I had the incredible opportunity to team up with Greater Columbus Sports Commission to showcase the fan experience at the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series, and I can confidently say this was the coolest sporting event I’ve ever attended.

A Night to Remember in Columbus

94,571 fans packed THE Ohio Stadium to watch the Columbus Blue Jackets take on the Detroit Red Wings under the lights in one of the most electric sports atmospheres I’ve ever witnessed. An outdoor hockey game in the Shoe? It doesn’t get much better than that.

From O.A.R. hyping up the pregame to Twenty One Pilots crushing the intermission performance, the entertainment was next level. And to top it all off, Taylor and I even got a picture with the Stanley Cup, talk about a bucket list moment!

But it wasn’t just the fans inside the stadium who were dialed in. The sports world had its eyes on Columbus this weekend, and the numbers prove it.

The Most-Watched Stadium Series Game Ever on Cable

The 2025 Stadium Series was a massive success, both in-person and on TV:
📺 1.6 million viewers tuned in on ESPN, making it:
🔥 The most-watched Stadium Series game ever on cable
📈 16% higher viewership than last year’s Stadium Series
🏒 The second most-watched regular-season NHL game on cable ever

It’s safe to say Columbus delivered.

Columbus Is Built for Big Events

On top of hosting one of the biggest NHL games in history, Columbus also welcomed thousands of athletes and fitness enthusiasts for the Arnold Sports Festival over the weekend. Seeing our city host two massive events at the same time proves that Columbus is more than ready for the national spotlight.

The way the NHL, Ohio State, the Blue Jackets, and the city of Columbus put this event together was truly incredible. This weekend was proof that Columbus is a true sports town, and I’m so glad I got to be part of it.

A huge thank you to the Greater Columbus Sports Commission for the opportunity to capture such an unforgettable night. Columbus is a hockey town, and Saturday night proved exactly that.
